Snow Trip!

One of the things I LOVE about where we live is that we we are just a short one-and-a-half-hour drive from the mountains.  We took a quick road trip up north for the afternoon to see the snow.   It sure is fun to play in, but I’m so glad we don’t have to live in it every day.  I’m totally happy with our 60-degree winters!

 

The little ones weren’t as excited as the rest of us to play in the snow.  Just a few minutes after we spent all of the time getting them bundled up, they begged to just get back in the car to play – whatever!  The big boys and Greg had fun throwing snowballs and sledding down a small hill we found.  We actually had snow flurries at our house two different times this winter.  Crazy!

   

 

Winter Lake Trip

A little cold weather would never stop us from going to the lake.  The winter months are the BEST because we practically have the whole place to ourselves.  Our weekends for the past few months have been crazy busy, but we did manage to get out one Saturday.  I’m happy to bundle up in my Snuggie and just enjoy the snacks and the view, but Greg takes full advantage of the glassy water.

 

We have YET to catch a dang fish in this lake… and it’s not from the lack of trying.  We have tried all types of bait, lures, & techniques, but it’s just not meant to be.  It’s still fun, though!

Sure do love these guys!!!

Can’t wait till summer!

Christmas DAY!!!

There is NOTHING better than the look of a child’s face as they run down the stairs on Christmas morning.  Magical!

 

 

The kids were especially excited to watch each other open the gifts they bought for each other. 

 

 

 

 

 

It was a GREAT day.  We played in our jammies most of the morning and then had a fancy dinner hosted at Clint & Kristin’s house.  I LOVE Christmas!

Christmas Festivities 2010

Can it really be that Christmas was THREE months ago!?  It’s crazy how fast time is flying by.  I seriously feel like we JUST did Christmas, and now summer is right around the corner.  We had such a fun holiday season.  Greg was able to take the entire two-week break off, so we packed every day with fun activities.  We made our traditional trip to Mesa to see the Temple lights and then go to Organ Stop Pizza.  I LOVE this tradition!

 

 

We hosted our annual “Friend” Christmas party with some of our favorite people at our house this year.  It’s been over 12 years since we started getting together.  We are so lucky to have such great friends.  The kids had a blast being crazy outside and the adults laughed, talked, and ate LOTS of yummy food.  Fun!!! 

 

 

Fireworks are now LEGAL in Arizona!  So, of course Greg went all out and bought the giant pack from Costco.

And then we had our big Jackson Christmas party.  Cousins, cousins, & more cousins!!
